Java and Kotlin are used for Android development. Flutter lets an app share code across Android and iOS. The choice depends on device features, the existing system and future maintenance.
We start with the main actions people need to take. Agreeing what belongs in the first release and what can follow gives design, development and testing a concrete scope.
Connecting to your systems
Apps can connect to APIs, customer accounts and business data. We discuss authentication, permissions, notifications and behaviour on a poor connection separately.
If the required API does not exist, its development is a separate part of the work. We also agree which data is stored on the device and which belongs on the server.
Testing and maintenance
We check the main user flows, screen sizes and error states. Publishing work depends on store accounts, available assets and platform requirements. For an existing app, we can take on specific fixes and updates after reviewing the code.
Common questions
Can one app run on both Android and iOS?
Yes, using a framework such as Flutter. Some features still require platform-specific code, so we review the requirements before choosing the approach.
Can you maintain an existing app?
Yes, subject to reviewing the code and build environment. A repository, a working release and a list of known issues are useful starting points.
